It’s made for Quentin Giordano! He won for the first time in his career in the French championship by securing a 4th time in the final round, won by Rhodanien Julien Saunier in Saint-Cyr le Chatoux. Ciamin, 2nd in this special, is therefore the second classified in this Rhône-Charbonnieres rally, sharing the leadership in the French asphalt rally championship with the winner of the day (50 points). Cédric Robert completes the podium on his Alpine.

Quentin Giordano scores a great time in the SS12 between Thizy les Bourgs – La Plaine (14.46 km) and sets off for his first national success! 11:30 | The ES9 is finally launched

The departure of the SS9 finally took place at 11:27 am in Grandis, instead of 10:39 am as originally planned.

The special number 8 was interrupted after Sébastien Dommerdich (Peugeot 205 GTI), this morning 17th overall, left the road to allow the ambulance to intervene. This interruption caused a delay at the start of the SS9, the third race of the day. The first car was to leave Grandis at 10:39 am.

9:45 am | SS 7: Change at the top of the standings

The 7th special edition of this 2022 edition of the Rallye de Charbonnières took place this morning shortly after 9:00. This 14-kilometer special between Saint-Clément / Valsonne and Amplepuis saw the triumph of Quentin Giordano, second overall before the start of the day. The Volswagen Polo driver set the best time with 7 tenths of a lead over Hugo Margaillan.

This good performance allows Giordano to take the lead in the standings, 1 second 2 ahead of Nicolas Ciamin, only 3rd in the first special of this Saturday and who finished at the helm of the standings on Friday.
The second race of the day will start at 9:51 from Thizy to La Plaine.

Charbo’s 87 modern crews started the SS 7 Saint-Clément / Valsonne – Amplepuis at 9:08 am. Followed by SS8 Thizy – La Plaine at 9:51, SS9 Grandris – Saint-Bonnet-le-Troncy at 10:39, SS10 in Saint-Nizier-d’Azergues at 11:02 and finally SS11 Claveisolles – Le Parasoir at 11:30 . .

The afternoon ride will start at 3:28 pm in Saint-Clément / Valsonne and the podium will be celebrated at Place Sainte-Luce in Charbonnières at around 7:35 pm.
