Restaurants to celebrate Mother’s Day lunch in SP – Paladar

Celebrated next Sunday (8), the Mothers Day this year will have an even more special flavor for many people. After all, this will be the first, since the beginning of the pandemic, in which it will be possible to gather the family around the table.

The restaurants in the city of São Paulo have embarked on this wave of optimism – the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants in São Paulo (Abrasel SP) predicts an increase of 20 to 30% in revenue – and are preparing more than special suggestions for the date, ranging from dishes to share to closed menus (see selection below).

Some will also offer special suggestions throughout the weekend, for those who prefer to escape the busy Sunday lunch. Remembering that most restaurants work with advance reservations on these special dates and it’s worth calling ahead to check availability.

Parisian bistro

Especially for lunch this Sunday (8), French chef Alain Poletto prepared three meat suggestions, so that mothers can share with the family around the table. One of the favorites is the pururuca piglet palette, served with spiced applesauce and sweet potato chips (R$209, serves 2 to 3 people).

And there are two options based on Fazenda Santa Ignácia lamb: the palette cooked for 16 hours in a vacuum, which arrives at the table in the company of gratin dauphinois, based on potatoes, cream and Gruyère cheese (R$ 286, serves 2 to 3 people); and the roasted ham, served with a bread crust with parsley and garlic, also accompanies the same gratin, grilled vegetables, Provencal tomatoes, candied garlic and roast sauce (R$450, serves 3 to 4 people).

Loup

Especially for the date, chef Dorival Ribas presents a menu with suggestions such as the boyfriend carpaccio with finger pepper vinaigrette and sprouts (R$ 43), the flank steak medallion stuffed with cheese and served with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus (R$108) and green tagliarini served with a creamy gorgonzola and pine nut sauce (R$82).

The desserts signed by pastry chef Arnor Porto are the banana macaron brûlée served with caramel ice cream (R$39) and the brigadeiro mousse cake with dark chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream (R$35)

Cod Wine & Co.

The classic Portuguese restaurant, which has been operating since 1973 in Barra Funda and has a branch in Itaim Bibi, presents for lunch this Sunday (8) a special menu dedicated to mothers. Prepared by chef Caique Pallas, the menu (R$299, serves 2 to 3 people) includes cod fritters for starters, grandma Alice’s codfish as the main course (cod fillets, onions, potatoes, black olives, garlic and parsley). ) – homage to his grandmother – and a trio of Portuguese pastries (cream, santa clara and apple) for dessert.

Under the command of the couple of chefs Giovanna Perrone and Rodrigo Aguiar, the restaurant whose protagonist is the fire, and the cuisine is based on seasonal ingredients coming from small producers, offers rice from the sea as a special suggestion for mothers. The dish, which will be on display over the weekend, is based on peccary rice cooked in shrimp broth, which is served with onion pickles, herb emulsion, lemon gremolata and seafood (octopus, mini squid and shrimp) grilled (R$ 320, serves two people).

Chef Renata Vanzetto’s signature cuisine restaurant, which also runs locations such as Muquifo, Mi.ado and Mico, has a menu with suggestions such as dried grape leaves with Lua Cheia cheese, hazelnuts, caramelized onions and pears, finished with spicy honey (R$ 36, 4 units), the zoião (palm heart cream with soft yolk, asparagus, raw ham and brioche in butter, R$ 48) and the rib roasted for 8 hours and served with manioc cream, farofa of flour, watercress and potato chips (R$ 94). And mothers who go to lunch this Sunday (8) will win a mille-feuilles of corn with blueberry and a touch of cinnamon with courtesy.

Until Sunday (8), the two units of the restaurant specializing in truffles offer a special menu for mothers. Among the suggestions prepared by chef Daiane Chad, the highlight is the uovo tartufaio (a perfect egg with asparagus and a sauce based on butter, cream and Parmesan, finished with pangrattato and fresh truffle slices, R$ 88), the risotto ai frutti di terra (based on carnaroli rice, cabotiá pumpkin cream with truffle parsley, based on black truffles, mushrooms and black olives, vegetables such as corn, carrots, radishes and peas, and finished with onion and chestnut chutney pará, R$79) and the cannoli and tarturato dulce de leche (crunchy pastry stuffed with citrus ricotta cream, dulce de leche with truffles and tonka and butterscotch ice cream, R$42).

Especially for Mother’s Day, chef Bella Masano created a special four-step menu (R$355, per person), which brings together some of her mother, Ana Masano’s favorite dishes. The lobster in red sea, in which the crustacean arrives at the table over beet cream and served with apple vinaigrette, and the giant shrimp in straw, which is breaded with potato straw, are some of the menu items. And, for those who prefer to celebrate the date at home, Bella also offers the sea bass stuffed with farofa (R$495 – serves 3 people), made to order.
