Start continues in Saluzzo with another weekend full of art, craftsmanship and many events, exhibitions, round table discussions, greedy walks and insights.
The 27th Saluzzo Contemporary Art Exhibition opens for the first time until May 22 in the former Caserma Musso, powered by Paratissima and curated by Francesca Canfora.
It involves about thirty artists, who will reinterpret the theme using the most diverse techniques and expressive languages. In addition to the younger emerging talents, the most well-known artists with a long-standing exhibition curriculum, including Domenico Borrelli, Carlo Doria, Enrico Iuliano and Walter Visentin, Il Cerchio e le Gocce and Davide “Boosta” Di Leo, who for the occasion will present the spaces of the neighborhood with large sculptures and installations with an ecological dimension.
Still in the framework of the collaboration with Paratissima, the cloister of the Church of San Giovanni organizes Animal Soul by Simone Benedetto to tell how sculpture can animate and re-inhabit a space, poetically reinterpreting the spirit of a place.
Saturday, May 7, will be a particularly intense day: at 2 pm, from the courtyard of Il Quartiere, the eVISO GO returns after two years of forced break, a greedy walk to discover the treasures of Saluzzo, reaching its third edition.
From 15 in corso Piemonte – via Donaudi “The courtyards open to art” with “Dolls, porcelain, oils, silk and enamel, the exhibition of Giuliana Risso Rivoira which brings together 35 years of creativity in one path and presents it to the public in the beautiful town square. Opening hours (Saturday 7 and 14 May, 3 – 6 pm, Sunday 8 and 15 May 2022, 3 – 6 pm).
With a vernissage at 5 pm, the personal exhibition “Walking with Nino Parola” dedicated to the painter from Saluzzo 100 years after his birth opens in Villa Belvedere (via San Bernardino 17). A painter who, starting from French Impressionism, experiments himself in metaphysics, as he touches the Surrealists. But it is mainly the color that is light, volume, drawing and line in his painting. In 26 paintings chosen for the journey in the sense of the art of an important painter for the history and cultural life of Saluzzo.
Sunday 8 May Start / Artigianato presents with Polo del Legno del Monviso and the Diffused District of Commerce, in collaboration with the Saluzzo Arreda Consortium and the Artisan Firms Shops & Open Companies | The companies to visit, patrons of the Wood Crafts. The Brossasco Wood Museum and the Isasca Wood School open their doors, an open day dedicated to those who work with wood, the supply chain and people. Start Artigianato is revived in order to make known the reality that daily carries on a profession that for the area is part of its history, a tradition, that of know-how and wood.
